Friday December 9, 2022 Update

This week we have been working with our wonderful clients on their glass and mirror projects. This include replacing broken windows, since, unfortunately glass breaks! Some times it’s a fallen branch or a kicked up rock that hits the glass and now you have a hole or crack in one or both glasses.

That is why we are here to get your window repaired. Our single and dual pane window glass pieces are custom sized for your window and we can even do the install and replacement as well!

Friday July 29, 2022 Update

We are so lucky to be able to enjoy some stunning beach sunsets here. They are later in the day right now, but lovely none the less! And we are glad to have some of our important tools of the trade - truck and trailer. We are a small shoppe and this lets us do bigger jobs. If you need to upgrade the windows to your home or adding in plenty of mirrors, we are here for you!

Friday October 15, 2021 Update

Here is the new shade of red on our entrance door!

We had been enjoying the cooler weather while we remodel, but the heat picked up a little bit (but perfect for a Carlsbad beach day!)

We are still working hard on our remodel with some more painting to do and soon more construction to reinvent the space. This week we have been installing glass into different times of frames. From cabinet doors that need glass, to aluminum window frames, to picture frames needing new glass to protect the art. Clients are able to drop off their pieces while we get all the supplies together and pick them up when they are done. They get to see the changes in the Shoppe as much can happen in a few days!

Friday July 9, 2021 Update

We hope everyone had a great Fourth of July weekend last weekend, and that this weekend will still be fun! Here at the Shoppe we have been working hard as the temperatures start to rise! In fact, many glass manufacturers have to shift their schedule to tempering glass in the evenings because of how hot the machines get (and to give the grid a bit of a break!) It is interesting how certain industries have to shift for the weather. We are very fortunate to not have to deal with snow or tornadoes.

So, since we have the heat of summer to contend with, our clients are able to get new windows for better insulation from the heat and glass shower enclosures for showers so they can cool off. Both of which are available through our local shop.

Friday June 25, 2021 Update

We're halfway to Christmas! So maybe we're dreaming of cooler weather sometimes, but we are enjoying the sun and the surprise patches of rain. Summer is here and we are here for your glass and mirror needs! Summer heat is a big issue in Southern California, and while we can’t help you with your air conditioning, we can with insulation; specifically, windows! For our clients with single pane windows (or damaged dual pane), we can replace them with new dual pane, vinyl retrofit windows. The added layers of thicker tempered glass, air, and more glass provide a much better buffer from the elements than a single piece of glass. This will help keep your home cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter, and quieter from sounds of the outside. Of course, our artistic minds couldn’t suggest windows without suggesting some art glass windows! They are great for any window, but you will see them often decorating the sidelight of a front door or adding privacy to a large bathroom window. We can use textured or privacy glass, sandblast a design, or use stained glass to create a lead and bevel design, some color, or full color!

Friday June 4, 2021 Update

We are now into the month of June, summer is just over the horizon! It is sure to be much different from last year. Everyone is still working to keep themselves and others safe, but things keep looking better everyday and we must keep moving and looking forward!

We here at the Shoppe are thankful we are able to keep working and provide our services to the community. We have still been working on glass repairs - from cracked sliding glass doors to crystal glasses with chipped rims. By providing these services, we can repair many things and replace as needed. Recently, a few clients had needed help with fogged windows. This happens when a dual pane window loses it’s seal and the inside gets a foggy look. It may seem like you can wipe it off, but unfortunately the issue is on the inside and requires a new, sealed dual unit. Most often we only need to replace the glass and can reused the frame.

Friday March 19, 2021 Update

Another lovely week in Carlsbad Village in sunny Southern California!

In between our spots of rain, our clients have been improving their windows. We can replace old, leaky, and failed windows with new vinyl retrofit windows. This is great for replacing single pane aluminum frames to something with a cleaner look and dual panes for sound and temperature isolation. Vinyl retrofit also applies to patio doors. With dual pane tempered glass, they are more secure than a single pane of raw glass. Plus you get the increase insulation and the same fresh look to match new windows!
