Happy New Year!

It seems like a difficult time to make resolutions, but we can at least resolve to have a better year (to the best of our abilities)

For now, we will be thankful. It has been a difficult year, small businesses have been hit especially hard. I know that in Carlsbad Village we have all tried to support each other, but it is a challenge. We are grateful to have been able to stay open despite not being able to get much of the assistance that was given out. We learned that a “small” business has about 50 employees, which puts us and the places around us into what must be a micro business category, and I am personally worried us and many others were overlooked for government assitance. But we and our local friends are trying to persevere. By being available by call, text, or email we have connected with clients across the country with repairs. Our local contractors still order from us, and our clients know we are working as fast as we can to complete their orders as the pandemic has slowed down every step of the process. We have worked hard to try and adapt and keep our smiles on under our masks!

So once again, thank you to our clients, friends, and family who have done what they can to keep us afloat.

And if you can, support local businesses with as contactless ordering, stay safe, and stay warm!

PS: That was some wonderful rain we had to start the week, what do you think? =)

Friday July 10, 2020 Update

Things are tough still for everyone as businneses around us had to reduce how they can serve their customers. Carlsbad is trying to work out how to help its locals, so we shall see what they can do. For now we must all support each other in staying safe, wearing your mask, social distancing, and shopping from local businesses more remotely (online, over the phone, etc.)

Since last week, we have had more and more stained glass repairs show up. These pieces have been passed down generations, been purchased from a different country, or even came with the home! There is always a back story, and we enjoy restoring these pieces. Matching glass as much as possible, soldering weak areas, properly cleaning the pieces, and reinforcing them are some of the services we do for our clients stained glass. We have even made matching pieces to go with one our clients had.

We are able to stay open because of the industry we are in while also following all guidelines. Masks, sanitizer, and very frequent cleanings are our lives now. But we are here because windows break, showers need glass, and as a small business we need the support of our clients. This has made it the perfect time for repairing those heirlooms because more people are staying home and can see these items need some love.

So a big thank you to our clients for working with us and having the patience as we tackle new issues brought on by the pandemic.

It is pleasant to see those in our community supporting the village and following guidelines. Thank you and continue being kind!

Friday June 19, 2020 Update

Summer is almost upon us, we have the longest day of the year to look forward to! Hopefully it is a productive one!

It has been difficult on everyone, but we still need to work together to keep everyone safe as we are still working through this pandemic. In fact, we are still here working to make ends meet as many are. Our wonderful clients are helping keep our spirits up with new windows, shower doors, crystal repair, and even some custom dividers in restaurants. Might as well be safe and decorative! We will share more of that when the job is complete!

Also, be sure to follow us on our social media accounts (found at the bottom of the page) for more photos, information, and current going-ons!

PS: Starting Thursday June 25, 2020 parking in the village will be limited to three hours on many streets. Watch out for signs explaining the rules while visiting Carlsbad Village!
