Friday June 17, 2022 Update

Happy Friday friends and fans of Glass and Mirror Shoppe. They sun is starting to be out more here in Carlsbad as it pushes through the clouds! While we enjoy some sunshine, sometimes it can be a little too much especially with Summer around the corner.

Our biggest recommendation for improving insulation and help reduce utility cost is by upgrading your windows to dual pane vinyl retrofit ones. They use two pieces of glass sealed in a vinyl frame, with space in between. The two pieces of glass and air gap provide improved insulation over a a single piece of glass in an aluminum frame. A coating called Low E can be added to the glass which reduces the heat transfer from the glass.

Many homes have large windows and sliding glass doors that let in some of the heat or cold from the outside. Better insulation means a cooler home in the Summer and warmer in the Winter. This means using a bit less air conditioning or heating which will help you save on your utilities!

Plus the white or light tan vinyl help refresh the look of the home with or without the decorative cross bars depending on your style. Check out some of work below!

PS: We will be closed Friday July 1 through Monday July 4, and we’ll be back Tuesday July 5th.
